    “Hikari no Mi” (Fruit of light)

    At the end of last year “Dogo Onsenight 2014″ was held as the finale of “Dogo ONSENART 2014”. “Hikari no Mi”, one of its most popular events which was mainly for local people, was also instituted this year. “Hikari no Mi” event is a participation type art program developed by Kyota Takahashi who has presented installation light works all over the world. This event decorated the Dogo area gorgeously at the end of the year. Organized by the Consortium Dogo Art Project.

    Kyota Takahashi

    Born in Kyoto in 1970. Completed his MA as a sculpture major at the Graduate School of Art, Kyoto City University of Arts in 1995. He actively and extensively shows his works in and out of Japan exhibiting public projections, installations, performances, etc. using lights and videos. Lighting projects of large-scale buildings such as Nijo Castle in Kyoto, Towada Art Center etc. create dynamic and formative images and light works. He also worked on many large-scale participatory art projects such as "dream seed project", "Shining Smile Fruit", "Gift for Frozen Village", in cooperation with many people.
