Born in 1961 in Saga Prefecture. He joined a kiln in the region in 1975. He opened his own pottery studio in Saga in 1985. He held a solo show at Spiral in 2007, which then toured to the Design Museum in Helsinki. He participated in a residency at a pottery manufacturer in Helsinki. He is also a writer and novelist.
