Hundred Camellias digital film

This 3D computer graphic film presented the historic “Hundred Camellias” scroll from the Shiseido Corporate Museum. The work was a contemporary reinterpretation of the camellia in a way that symbolizes reincarnation, metamorphosis, and spirit, evolving from a single drop of blood (or single cell) into a complex multicellular organism. The butterfly fluttering through the camellias that multiply like the organs of a body evoked the Chinese Tao philosopher Chuang Tzu’s “Dream of a Butterfly,” inviting us on a journey transcending time and space.
