Born in Hiroshima in 1974. He set up his design studio, suppose design office, in 2000. He has designed over 100 houses and his portfolio also includes Design Tide 2008 and 2009, as well as an installation for Toshiba at the Salone del Mobile. He has won numerous awards, including an International Architecture Award (Chicago Athenaeum), the Fukuoka Prefecture Beautiful Community Architecture Grand Prize, and the Modern Living Grand Prize.
In this distinctive L-shaped suite, the front room was lit with sodium lamps used in tunnels, which canceled out any sense of color. Everything in the next room—including the tatami mats and fusuma—was painted over with a brush like on a canvas, mixing the three-dimensional aspects of the room with the two-dimensional. Guests and visitors had the strange sensation that they had wandered into a picture.
