Dogo Onsen x Mitsukoshi Isetan x Kagoshima Makoto no yukata (temporary names)

“Dogo Onsen x Ginza Mitsukoshi’s Yukata Art Project” Makoto Kagoshima who is also a ceramic artist will create original yukatas using the traditional color techniques, but with designs derived from two different areas – Ginza and Dogo. During ONSENART, hotels at Dogo will rent out yukatas for guests and visitors to wear while visiting different art exhibitions. In Ginza Mitsukoshi, POP UP store will sell these yukatas created through collaboration.

Potter, artist, born in Fukuoka Prefecture. After graduating from an art college, he worked at an interior design company and was in charge of display and management.
In 2002, he began full-scale production of pottery at his own atelier in Fukuoka city. He also produces fabrics and prints. Since around 2003, his works have been exhibited in Matsuya Ginza Department Store, biotope, gallery fève (all in Tokyo), dieci (Osaka), VIVO, VA (Kobe), etc. In 2017, he held his first solo exhibition, " Makoto Kagoshima ZOKEI (Art) Exhibition" (Dazaifu Tenmangu Shrine Treasure Hall) and " Makoto Kagoshima ZUAN (Design) Exhibition" (Mitsubishi Estate Artium, Fukuoka). Recently, he has also held solo exhibitions not only in Japan, but also in LA, Taipei and London. Besides work productions, he is active in providing designs to domestic and foreign brands, representing various products, participating in international art projects, and creating murals in various spaces.
